Super sharp!

Had me first bought the set of 3 and then this knife from the same series to have a larger. It is great in the hand and cuts perfectly. For me, one of the best knives I've ever had.

still sharp after 1 year

I bought this knife for my own kitchen. It is important to me that a knife stays sharp for a long time and it feels good in the hand. It has been used daily for 1 year and is as sharp as ever. The handle of the knife fits very well in the hand and is well balanced.I simply clean the knife by hand under running water and then dry it immediately.

Wakoli Damascus Knife

I like the knife very much. It is well balanced and feels comfortable in the hand. Already on delivery it was sharp as a razor blade and cut everything without problems. The blade length I feel is optimal.
Nevertheless, with Japanese water sharpening stones with appropriate grit and leather for honing can still get more out of the knife.
One should also remember that every knife becomes blunt, and the price is no guarantee for 20 years of perfect sharpness. However, a good knife keeps the sharpness much longer, and with regular re-sharpening is lost little time, with optimal results.

EDIT 8.09.2016
After more than a year I can still highly recommend the knife. I reach for every little thing to this knife, because I no longer feel like cutting with dull knives.

Noble and super sharp

The "Wakoli EDIB Damascus Knife Chef's Knife 20 cm" is a very high quality processed kitchen knife. After 3 weeks of use, I am highly satisfied with the knife. This is my third knife made of damask steel (other brands).

Pros:
+ The edge is super sharp and glides through meat and smoked
ham with very light pressure. With oranges, almost no pressure is necessary
+ Knife blade 20cm long
+ on closer inspection, the knife is of high quality workmanship and the mirror polish makes the
very beautiful pattern stand out
+ The forged edge goes in one piece on the handle, so there is no edge from two
individual pieces (edge and handle), which makes a high quality knife. Thus, there are no
indentations/grooves where dirt and cutting debris can accumulate.
+ The knife is NOT dishwasher safe (which is normal for high-quality knives, as they otherwise
become dull) and must be cleaned by hand. After use, the knife with handle
is immediately cleaned with hot water and detergent. Likewise, it is then also immediately dried by hand
.
+ User instructions are included as a leaflet

Disadvantages:
- for storage, the knife unfortunately has no knife sheath for protection. Great would be here a
knife sheath for the complete blade.
- As pakka wood is named in the description olive or rosewood. At Wikipedia, "Pakka wood as
is a collective term for impregnated wood laminate, which are mostly used for knife handles.
Since it is made from a wide variety of wood species, quite different shades
can occur." The wooden handle I still find very nice, but the manufacturer should rather name the wood species
specifically! Nevertheless, the wooden handle is very nice and gets 5 stars.

The "Wakoli EDIB Damascus knife chef knife 20 cm" fully meets my taste. I would buy the knife again at any time. The elegant wooden case rounds off the noble damask knife.
